Authority, Jealousy, and The Ego

In Early Christianity, pride and ego were major themes that may have lead some Christians astray.  Who was "first among equals?"  Who has more authority?  The Bishop of Rome, The Patriarch of Constantinople, an Emperor, and so on?  Fast forward today, there have been a lot of denominations.  The Church has split due to sin.  The idea that there may be a God sent prophet......it may have rubbed some people wrong.  They were wrong, and they had something to hide.  They were wrong, and they were in an ego contest for authority.  They were wrong.  Lets be right in Jesus Christ and seek Truth.  Lets build The Kingdom of God.  Reading some of this testimony, someone may have become jealous or bitter or something.  There has been a price to privileged.  Given you would like to be homeless, and go through various trials, who should pray for that.  We all have a function in The Body of Christ.  Some are the feet, some the hands, some the eyes, some the mouth, and so on.  We all have a function. If your left hand causes you to sin, cut it off.  Being cut off may be like an exile or excommunication.  We all have a function.  Given someone would like more from God potentially, pray.  God likes Glory.  Through God's Holy Spirit we man may be shepherded to do things towards God's Glory.

What is ego?  Whose opinion matters?  Are you trying to impress someone?  Young man is around a group of friends.  He cares what they think about him.  He has been in competition.  He would like to be well liked and impress people.  Who was he trying to impress?  Man or God?

Young man is around 13 years old.  He sits in the back of the class.  His friends have already been dating and partying some, and that was what was popular.  Young man listens to his friends stories about dating, and being with girls.  Subconsciously, said stories may have played on his ego.  He was developing how to look at girls, and how to date.  He may have ended up in an ego contest with his buddies, even if it was subconscious, even if he been a Church goer.  Who gets the girl?  What are the rules for dating?   The World's way has set people up for failure.

Some young man becomes an old man.  He has been married for 20 years.  He goes to Church.  When he drinks, what was on his heart may have come out.  In his ego, he may have still been in competition with his friends from back in the day.  He may have had a wondering eye, or been prone to be with other women who were not his wife.  Maybe he had issues with porn or had certain unhealthy or ungodly fetishes. His ego drove him.  Let go.  He needs to let go of his ego.  Stop being in competition with other men of The World.  Stop working to please a false worldly perception of manliness.  Seek God, and do things that please God.

The same type of ego issues that may have driven someone into lust and sexual sins may have also hurt someone reading the testimony here.  They felt they were in competition with me, or didn't like me for some reason, or a number of things.  Let go.  Let go of your ego.  Working for God may be like running on a race track.  Everyone has their own lane.  Sometimes it may be like a rely, and something is handed off.  Just being on said race track is a blessing.  Just being there, someone made it, and they should thank God. Given someone is miles ahead of the rest may be demoralizing to someone if they were in competition in the wrong way.  Relax.   Breathe.  You are there potentially with a letting go.  God is love.  God has good plans. Stay your lane.
