What is Lucifer? This is a topic that has been written about here. Let us expand upon it.
An Angel may be a created being with a function or purpose having to do with some element of creation. God tests the heart. Satan as a created being, and angel, he may have had a function pertaining to testing the heart.
Arch Angel Michael has been known as Mankind's Advocate. Satan was an accuser. (Revelation 12:10)(Job 1:9-11) God is a Judge. We have a Court Room of sorts.
God likes Glory. Various Angels may have ended up with titles. This may be like a King giving honors and accolades to his knights and retainers. A Knight may have ended up "Guardian of the North." A Knight may have ended up "The Black." A Knight may have received some titles highlighting glory, accolades earned, or function. In a similar way, an Angel may have ended up receiving certain titles or functions. Arch Angel Michael has been termed "Most Like God." Lucifer or Morning Star would be a Title or Function.
“How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations! (Isaiah 14:12)
I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” (Revelations 22:16)
And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron;
They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelations 2:16-29)
Satan, a fallen angel, was Lucifer, a title or function. Jesus became Lucifer. Jesus is at the Right Hand of God. (Acts 7:55)
What is The Light? Before Christ, mankind had a tendency towards polytheism. After Christ, much of the world adopted some kind of Monotheism. Something in the Spiritual changed. God doesn't change. (Malachi 3:6-7) What was going on spiritually may have changed or shifted. Satan being thrown from heaven, with his angels, that would be a major shift or change.
Lucifer is a title or function. This particular function may have to do with God's Judgement of Nations.
Satan, a fallen angel, he coveted man. Satan was like mankind's envious half brother looking to get man into trouble with God. Jesus Christ loves you. There are rules. There are ways God judges. Satan was still out there working to get man into trouble with God.
Angels may have had different names and titles. Lucifer would be a title or function.
Question: Given Satan, The Enemy, was an Angel, did he go by a different name as an Angel?

A man doesn't gain anything from using the name. Power and authority come through The Lord Jesus Christ. A man needs to be "in God."
There is a power in names. What was something called now?

ReplyDeleteYou probably had Freemasons in your Church, or were practicing Freemason Mysticism rather than Christian Mysticism, towards a Circumcision of the Heart.
